Mic's Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day PledgePage

A few years ago, my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She endured chemotherapy and surgery on her lymph nodes, but ultimately, and quite happily, she survived the ordeal. I was not and still am not ready to live without my mom in this world.

This year, she is participating in the Avon 3-Day May 4, 5, and 6 to show support for a co-worker of hers, married with two young children, who is currently going through treatment for breast cancer. To show my love and support and to celebrate my mom's life, I have decided to participate in the 2001 Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day event up in Washington, D.C., too! The best part is that she does NOT know that I will be there. It's top secret and I will (hopefully) surprise her on the day of the event! Yay!

As part of this event, I have pledged to raise $1900 and this is where I am asking for your help. Please help me reach my goal and help fund the fight against this disease . Sometime, somewhere, a life may depend on it. I know that first hand and hope no family has to endure the loss of a parent to breast cancer. Also, if there is a family member or friend who has been affected by this disease to whom you'd like me to dedicate a mile of my walk, e-mail me his or her name and I will be happy to carry him or her in my thoughts as I train and as I walk. It'll be great motivation!
